TrueMove H, the first mobile operator to introduce 4G LTE in Thailand and the country’s largest 3G network, plans to enable enterprises throughout Thailand to launch, manage and monetise IoT businesses.

This follows a partnership that pairs TrueMove H’s mobile network with California-based Jasper’s Control Center IoT platform, enabling enterprises to introduce IoT-based services that enhance their customers’ experiences, while unlocking revenue channels.

With the Control Center platform, TrueMove H will offer a turnkey service for enterprises in any industry, including automotive, fleet management and smart cities. The system, it is claimed, can be configured for the needs of any business model, providing businesses with automation, intelligence and global scale needed to grow a successful connected services business.

“Enterprises throughout Thailand are looking to us to help them deliver new, value-added IoT services to their customers,” said Songtham Phianpattanawit, group executive director of True. “Jasper is the worldwide leader in IoT platforms that enable IoT services for companies in any industry, so we are excited to bring this powerful solution to all of our enterprise customers.”

Industries already showing a broad demand for IoT services in Thailand include:

  • Connected car: Many car companies are manufacturing their cars in Thailand, making the country a strategic first market for many connected car programmes. Jasper has a deep history in the connected car market, with 13 of the world’s largest manufacturers using Jasper for their connected car initiatives. This partnership will enable all vehicle manufacturers in Thailand to take advantage of Jasper’s platform via TrueMove H.
  • Fleet management: Companies throughout Thailand are using the IoT to monitor and manage their fleets to increase efficiency and improve service. Control Center provides the real-time intelligence and automation needed to modernise fleet management services.
  • Smart cities: Dense urban areas such as Bangkok are rapidly adopting smart city technologies including smart meters and connected transportation. The combination of TrueMove H’s mobile network and the IoT services platform enables the rapid, cost-effective deployment of smart city services.

Control Center provides enterprises throughout Thailand with a scalable IoT platform that not only enables them to introduce IoT services, but also gives them the flexibility to expand their services globally. Jasper partners with 26 mobile operator groups that represent more than 100 mobile operator networks worldwide, so as businesses aspire to grow their IoT services beyond Thailand, they can scale to meet business demand. This also provides businesses outside of Thailand a path for expanding their IoT services into the country.

“Thailand is a high-growth market for IoT, and enterprises throughout the region are eager to adopt IoT services that can help them transform their business and create value for their customers,” said Ken Laversin, senior vice president at Jasper. “TrueMove H’s partnership with Jasper shows its commitment to enabling enterprises to bring IoT services to market rapidly and cost-effectively, while also providing the capability to easily scale as business demands require.”

TrueMove H provides wireless broadband services using 3G HSPA+ and 4G LTE technologies. With the combined strengths of 850 and 2100MHz frequencies, it offers the largest nationwide 3G coverage and was the first to launch commercial 4G LTE services on 2100MHz in Thailand. In addition, its Wifi service offers connections at more than 100,000 hotspots locally and abroad.

• Last month, Reliance Communications, India’s fully-integrated telecommunications service provider, announced a partnership with Jasper to enable enterprises throughout India to launch, manage and monetise next-generation IoT businesses. Reliance is Jasper’s sole telecoms partner in India.
