Teradata announces Internet of Things real time Big Data analytics software

Silicon Valley Big Data analytics firm Teradata has announced two new software systems for real time Big Data analysis of Internet of Things data. Built on top of Hadoop, Teradata’s Listener and Aster Analytics system are designed to make it possible to listen in real-time and then use analytics to see the distinctive patterns in massive streams of IoT data.
The new software is designed to address the challenges of making sense of very large streams of IoT generated data, using machine learning algorithms.
Teradata Listener is described by Teradata as “intelligent, self-service software with
real-time "listening" capabilities to follow multiple streams of sensor and IoT data wherever it exists globally”, and then propagate the data into multiple platforms in an analytical ecosystem. Data propagated to the recently-released Teradata Integrated Big Data Platform 1800 provides access to large volumes of data with its native support of JSON (Java Script Object Notation) data. Data propagated to Hadoop® can be analyzed at scale with Teradata Aster Analytics on Hadoop.

Teradata has also launched a specialist server designed for real time analysis of very large volumes of Internet of Things data: the Teradata Integrated Big Data Platform 1800.
