New Hampshire managed network services company Senet is helping SenRa deploy LoRaWan connectivity throughout India.
Senet provides cloud-based software, connectivity service platforms and network build-out for the IoT. New Delhi-based SenRa is a low-power wide-area network provider.
Using Senet's cloud-based MNSi managed network services for IoT, SenRa launched its LoRaWan connectivity services in May 2017, establishing a foothold in India's IoT market. Senet's MNSi allows network operators to deploy LoRaWan services on their local physical assets, such as towers and buildings, and use Senet's operations and business support systems (OSS and BSS) platforms to manage the radio access network, onboard customers and facilitate business engagements while outsourcing the network management to Senet.
Leveraging Senet's turnkey network design, consulting services and MNSi platform, SenRa initially deployed in India's national capital region (NCR) and was able to begin offering branded LoRaWan connectivity, customer support and IoT developer services in less than 90 days. While other operators in the area continue to conduct trials and testing, SenRa has been able to deploy commercial-grade network and reduce go-to-market by a claimed 18 to 24 months.
SenRa measured success against several criteria, including operational support, network reliability under high-volume testing and the flexibility of Senet's network management system to support future expansion on an as-needed basis. In less than three months since launching the initial coverage in the NCR, SenRa has deployed across ten cities throughout India, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Pune.
"With Senet's managed network services, we've been able to exceed our network build-out goals and quickly engage customers to help them deliver IoT to one of the most populated regions of the world," said Ali Hosseini, chief executive officer of SenRa. "The responsiveness and technical acumen of Senet's support team has exceeded my expectations, allowing us to reduce our onboarding time for new hires and minimise issues as we aggressively deploy our network throughout India."
Now a fully operational LoRaWan operator, SenRa is supporting several initiatives that address environmental and sustainability issues, including collaborating with cities across India to address water scarcity, water pollution and water consumption. SenRa recently published a white paper demonstrating how LoRaWan can be used to contribute to India's Smart Cities Mission.
"SenRa's success in deploying and expanding their LoRaWan across India is a great example of how Senet's OSS and BSS platforms can reduce operator resource requirements and cost, while improving time-to-market and accelerating time-to-revenue," said Bruce Chatterley, CEO of Senet. "We look forward to growing our partnership with SenRa as the adoption of IoT continues to accelerate throughout India."
A founding and contributing member of the LoRa Alliance, Senet is committed to promoting IoT network and network management innovation, and supports an open partner ecosystem to ensure that the IoT realises its potential of delivering economic, environmental and social improvements.
SenRa, a contributing member of the LoRa Alliance, is an LPWAN provider for IoT and M2M applications. The company is deploying LPWANs throughout India for projects that require secure, reliable, long-distance communication at low cost.
