Ho, Ho, Ho! IoT keeps track of Santa during Christmas deliveries
December 22, 2016
IoT technology will be used to track Santa’s drones as they deliver Christmas presents around the world this weekend.
AirMap, based in Santa Claus, sorry Monica, in California, will be tracking Santa's first-ever Christmas Eve drone deliveries at santa.airmap.com.
This holiday season, Santa is launching his delivery drone, powered by AirMap's airspace data and services platform. He's packed the SleighMaster 3000 with presents, and beginning on December 24th at 12:00pm GMT he'll be filing his flight plan and sharing his public flight on the AirMap web app.
On Christmas Eve, children of all ages will be able to follow Santa's drone as it delivers presents to homes around the world.
Father Christmas is using the AirMap platform to learn more about where it is safe to fly, and where he needs special authorisation to fly at night. If there's a drone under your Christmas tree this year, be sure to check the rules on AirMap as part of your preflight before you fly, and always operate your drone responsibly.
AirMap is an airspace management platform for unmanned aircraft, commonly known as drones. It delivers low-altitude navigational data and communications tools to the drone industry.
