Managed wireless network services provider Kore has added to its leadership team following the recent acquisition of Wyless, with Mike Coffey becoming chief operating officer, Charles Kriete chief marketing officer, Steve Sarno chief financial officer and Gavin Carter chief technology officer. They will operate from the company’s Boston-area hub in the USA.

Coffey is responsible for major operational functions, including the integration of the businesses and their respective technologies. For the past eight years, he has leveraged an early background in software development and networking to lead two technology enabled companies as CEO, Wyless and RISI, a niche SaaS data business.

Earlier in his career, he was the technology executive at CMP Media responsible for an online technology platform driving a time of extensive growth, and previously served as a managing consultant for e-commerce software provider ATG.

Kriete is tasked with directing all aspects of marketing and product communications, as well as key channel partner and carrier commercial relationships. At Wyless, he was chief revenue officer responsible for sales and product marketing globally. Prior to Wyless, he served as executive vice president of TD Mobility, a joint venture between Tech Data and Brightstar. He was appointed lead executive after Tech Data and Brightstar jointly acquired OTBT, where he served as president, CEO and co-founder. Prior to OTBT, he held various positions with CDW.

Sarno will manage all aspects of the Kore financial organisation. He has more than 25 years’ experience in finance, including roles as CFO for Wyless Group, and VP of finance and chief accounting officer for Sapient and Exa. Earlier in his career, he was SVP of finance at Princeton Review, and was a senior manager during his ten years in the Price Waterhouse Coopers technology practice.

Carter aims to lead Kore to new technology innovations. An IT visionary, he has a track record of delivering multi-million dollar projects that drive business benefit through cultural, strategic and technical transformation. As CEO, he transformed JOC Group into the world’s leading shipping information company and managed the sale to IHS.

The new executives complement the existing responsibilities of Bob Metzler, Steve Healy, Chris Francosky, Felix Lluberes, Daniel To, Marion Code and Tom Lehn as they lead a global staff of more than 350, with a focus on delivering customer experiences in M2M and IoT. The company is one of the six largest providers of M2M and IoT services globally, inclusive of carriers, with a customer base of more than 3000 B2B companies globally serving more than six million subscribers.

“The new Kore management team comprises an unparalleled skillset that combines experience, technology depth, wisdom and an ability to execute in tomorrow’s globally connected business environment,” said Alex Brisbourne, CEO of Kore. “More than ever before, Kore is uniquely positioned to lead the industry in bringing value-added M2M connectivity and applications services to market across a broader global footprint, executed by the best management team in our industry.”
