Hungarian firm HCC Embedded has acquired the networking business of US company InterNiche Technologies, a supplier of embedded networking protocol software, to help it develop networking and storage products for IoT devices.
Effective immediately, HCC has assumed responsibility for providing legacy and technical support to users of InterNiche networking software.
“Over its 26-year history, the US-based InterNiche team has provided high-quality networking protocol and application software to a broad range of customers,” said Dave Hughes, CEO of HCC Embedded. “The addition of that team’s portfolio and reputation to HCC's strong position in Europe creates an impressive solution for developers worldwide and should greatly improve the quality of IoT devices coming to market. Our aim is to provide the most reliable, most secure, and safest data storage and communications for the IoT, backed by strong, global technical support.”
HCC provides data storage and communications software that keeps IoT data secure, encrypted, reliable and fast. InterNiche is well known for its mature code and high-quality internet protocol software and networking expertise, specifically targeting connected device implementations.
InterNiche's NicheStack products and IoT protocols complement HCC’s Misra-compliant networking and fail-safe storage portfolio. In the short term, all products previously available from both companies will be available for licensing as before. HCC has strengthened its technical and sales presence in the USA by bringing former InterNiche engineers and sales professionals together in one office in California with HCC Embedded America and plans to announce an integrated product roadmap in the near future.
HCC Embedded’s software ensures that any data stored or communicated by an embedded IoT application is secure, safe and reliable. With more than 15 years deep understanding of flash, HCC secures data for customers in IoT, medical, transport, industrial and aerospace markets. All software is developed using formal software processes, system-level knowledge and recognised quality practices to ensure robustness and verifiable quality.
HCC’s product portfolio includes communications products (USB, TCP/IPv4, IPv6, TLS/SSL and IPSec/IKE stacks) and storage products (file systems, media drivers, flash translation layers (FTL), smart-meter software and bootloaders), as well as encryption technology.
