Fleet Complete to incorporate BlackBerry Radar into its fleet tracking solution for advanced trailer and cargo monitoring capabilities
Telematics firm Fleet Complete is adopting Blackberry's Radar transportation and logistics management platform into its own fleet tracking and monitoring solution. Blackberry's Radar platform is an asset tracking system designed to give logistics firms real time data on their operations. The platform is Blackberry's main product designed for the IoT market. The move by Fleet Complete takes Blackberry a step forward in its reinvention as a transport and IoT company.
Based in Toronto, Fleet Complete serves 250,000 subscribers and 10,000 businesses worldwide. The company will become a major reseller of Blackberry's new Radar platform, and provide it with access to a significant global market.
Fleet Complete says its new expanded solution will provide better asset capacity management for carriers, allow for improved digital freight brokering, and incorporate environmental conditions of trailers and containers in a single interface.
BlackBerry Radar comprises a low maintenance device with a web application that provides continuous asset visibility and analytics. BlackBerry claims that Radar delivers more sensor readings and at a higher frequency than any other comparable solution on the market today.
"Fleet Complete and BlackBerry have a shared vision to accelerate the transformation of the logistics and supply chain industry," said Philip Poulidis, SVP and GM of Radar , BlackBerry. "Improving utilisation and efficiency can only happen if you have continuous visibility into all assets in your transportation fleet. By working together, we will be able to unlock the excess shipping capacity due to logistics inefficiencies and improve the visibility into an entire fleet of both powered and unpowered assets."
