An IoT gateway starter kit can help companies jumpstart innovation with a reliable platform and open gateway technologies. Introduced by Taiwanese company Advantech, the package includes a ready-to-run system, IoT software platform service, software development kit and technical support.
Based on the Intel Celeron J1900 platform, Windows 7 Embedded and Wise PaaS, the gateway is also verified to work with the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
For IoT developers and system integrators, this gives the flexibility to create innovative and cost-effective IoT products. It provides building blocks to connect various existing things, and unifies different protocols as IoT standard MQTT, then empowers IoT application development for data streaming, analytics and prediction.
In environments such as buildings, all targeted devices can be connected to the internet for data transmission and processing. Building administrators can then sit in the central control room, viewing a dashboard to manage the situation for increased efficiency.
An i-factory developer can bring all heterogeneous systems to an intelligent network, transform the data into a unified format standard for IoT communications and central management, and coordinate all systems so they work synergistically.
For a retail system integrator, it provides a simple way to integrate multiple systems and provide a cloud platform for creating business intelligence, using IoT technology to collect and analyse data to improve business strategies and practices.
Besides ready-to-run gateway system, software is also included in the package. This includes Wise PaaS and RMM Pro – IoT device remote monitoring and management software for data management, device monitoring and control and security via Intel Security McAfee. Wise-PaaS and RMM are ready on Microsoft Azure Marketplace to enable big data analytic services.
Also provided are SDK, 100+ Restful APIs, Node-Red logic editor design tools and documents. With three hours of online consulting services, users will have their exclusive account to submit and track service status.
Advantech built an IoT developer forum to discuss various development topics, from getting started to working with the latest IoT technologies. On the forum there are dedicated technical experts for Q&A that help customers shorten design phases and speed their launches.
